Carbamazepine is a prescription medication primarily used to treat seizure disorders (epilepsy), nerve pain (trigeminal neuralgia), and bipolar disorder. Known commonly by brand names like Tegretol, it works as an anticonvulsant to stabilize nerve activity. It is usually taken 2–4 times daily and often starts at a low dose that is gradually increased.
